Dr. Ann Sura - Naturopathic Doctor +

With 25+ years of experience as a Naturopathic Physician,  I have had the pleasure of working with a diverse patient population.  My passion remains women's health care, particularly Functional Neuro-Endocrinology (the study and treatment of brain chemistry and hormones complex interactions).

I am taking that passion and moving into an new business and format.  LifeBalance Systems will feature online group and individual programs focusing on the foundational lifestyle work and information women need to transition through their mid-life hormonal changes in an optimal and health manner.

These programs come from both my heart and from 25+ years of experience.  As Naturopathic Physician, I believe that personalized preventative care is of the utmost importance in helping people achieve their health goals.  However, years of working one-on-one with women, and more and more recent research has revealed that understanding foundational lifestyle information is the best first then adding in personalized protocols follows. This brings the very best results!

I look forward to engaging with you on social media as I am getting my programs finalized.

I take the education of clients seriously.  I believe what Benedict Lust, the father of Naturopathy, once said:
"It is my responsibility as a Naturopath to sufficiently educate my patients so as they no longer require my services."

Another foundational principle is that has led me to developing foundational lifestyle programs is:
"There is nothing the Doctor can do that will overcome what the Patient will not."

Naturopathic Medicine +

Naturopathic medicine blends centuries-old natural, non-toxic therapies with current advances in the study of health and human systems, covering all aspects of family health from prenatal to geriatric care.

Naturopathic Physicians have our roots in "vitalism" - we believe that the source of illness is not just represented by the presentation of a problem, but often has its roots in the way we live, what we eat and how we interact with our environment.  We seek the cause of disease and don't just focus on its most apparent manifestations.

Naturopathic Medicine is based on the belief that the human body has an innate healing ability. Naturopathic medical doctors (NMDs), also sometimes called Naturopaths,  teach their patients to use diet, exercise, lifestyle changes and cutting edge natural therapies to enhance their bodies’ ability to ward off and combat disease.

Therapies utilized with each patient are individualized.  Some patients come seeking a supplement or medication that will  treat their symptoms, others come with questions about how to prevent certain health conditions, and still others desire an understanding of how their condition began and what efforts they can take to undo the pathology that the body has already adapted to.

Naturopathic doctors craft comprehensive treatment plans that blend the best of modern medical science and traditional natural medical approaches to not only treat disease, but to also restore health.

Dr Ann Sura, ND is passionate about working with you on your path toward optimal health and wellness.

I encourage you to take an active role in your health every day, I'm with you every step of the journey.

Our Medicine ...

Naturopathic Medical Doctors (ND's or NMD's) are licensed primary-care doctors and are similar to conventional doctors in that both types of doctors study clinical and laboratory diagnosis, diagnose disease, perform minor surgery and can, if needed, prescribe drugs.

The practice of Naturopathic Medicine emerges from six underlying principles of healing:
1.     First Do No Harm - Naturopathic Medicine uses and promotes therapies that are safe and effective.
2.     The Healing Power of Nature - The doctor's role is to facilitate the body's inherent ablity to restore health.
3.     Treat the Cause - The origin of dis-ease must be treated, not just the symptoms
4.     Treat the Whole Person - Consider multiple factors in health and dis-ease and individualize the treatment
5.     Doctor as Teacher - Educate and empower the patient ot take responsibility for their own health.
6.     Prevention is the best cure.

We take the education of patients seriously.  We believe what Benedict Lust, the father of Naturopathy, once said:
"It is my responsibility as a Naturopath to sufficiently educate my patients so as they no longer require my services."
As well as our office motto -
"There is nothing the Doctor can do that will overcome what the Patient will not."

We understand the importance of your wellness.  As a result, each of us at NaturaMed Natural Family Medicine will continuously commit ourselves to meeting and exceeding your expectations..
